Alaska Journal of Commerce

Morris Communications entered the Alaska marketplace in 1969 with the purchase of Juneau's daily newspaper, the Southeast Alaska Empire, later renamed the Juneau Empire.

In 1990, Morris expanded its geographic range by acquiring the Peninsula Clarion daily, which serves Kenai and Soldotna. By mid-1995, Morris became established in Anchorage as the new owner of Alaska magazine, an international publication, and later that year purchased the Alaska Journal of Commerce in Anchorage, a statewide business weekly.

The Alaska Journal of Commerce provides readers with all of the local business information they are looking for, all in one concise publication. Subscribers are information seekers and trend watchers, men and women who want quality business news.

The magazine also publishes popular supplements and inserts. Two of the most popular are the Oil and Gas Reporter and the Book of Lists. The annual Book of Lists is an invaluable compilation of industry lists, which are complied and published throughout the year. The Oil and Gas Reporter focuses solely on the industry that has been, and is continuing to be Alaska's leader in revenue.
