MORRIS ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE PROMOTIONS
AUGUSTA, Ga. Morris Communications LLC and its
newspaper subsidiary, Morris Publishing Group LLC, have promoted 16 senior executives to better
accommodate the growth and diversity of the company. The promotions, announced today by
President William S. Morris IV, president of the parent company and president and chief
executive officer of the subsidiary, include the following:
Morris Communications Co.
Carl N. Cannon, formerly vice president of newspapers, to
executive vice president of newspapers;
James C. Currow, formerly vice president of newspapers, to
executive vice president of newspapers;
Craig S. Mitchell, formerly vice president of finance, to
senior vice president of finance;
Steve K. Stone, formerly vice president and chief financial
officer of newspapers and shared services, to senior vice president
and chief financial officer of newspapers and shared services;
Robert J. Kuhar, formerly director of property and facilities,
to vice president of property and facilities;
Morris M. "Pete" May, formerly director of administrative
services, to vice president of administrative services;
Martha Jean McHaney, formerly director of human resources,
to vice president of human resources;
Michael D. Osterhout, formerly chief operating officer of
MCC Radio LLC, to vice president of MCC Radio LLC;
Steven B. Strout, formerly chief information officer, to vice
president and chief information officer;

James E. Smith, formerly director of market research, to vice
president of market research;
Douglas E. Sumrell, formerly corporate director of circulation,
to vice president of circulation;
Michael C. Traynor, formerly director of newspapers, to vice
president of newspapers;
J. Stanley Warren, formerly director of newspapers, to vice
president of newspapers;
Everton J. Weeks, formerly corporate director of advertising,
to vice president of advertising.
