NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR NAMED FOR RIVIERA RADIO

AUGUSTA, Ga.—Paul Kavanagh has been named managing director for Riviera Radio, the only 24-hour, English-language FM radio station serving the French Riviera. The announcement was made today by William S. Morris III, president of Morris Communications, parent company of the station licensed to the principality of Monaco.

Prior to joining Riviera Radio, Kavanagh was chief executive officer of Kavanagh Media, a company he founded in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland. Kavanagh Media worked in partnership with radio stations in both Ireland and the U.K. to create strategies for audience growth, profitability and shareholder value.

Throughout his 20-year career in radio management, Kavanagh has been a general manager, program director, group program director and consultant, becoming known across Europe for developing radio stations and building audience levels. From 1989 to 1996, he was managing director for Atlantic 252, which became the largest commercial radio station in the U.K.

"We are fortunate to have found a person of Paul's experience and expertise to take the helm of our strategic broadcast location in Monaco," said Morris. "Riviera Radio serves one of the largest and most sophisticated visitor populations in the world."

"There is tremendous marketing potential in Riviera Radio," said Michael D. Osterhout, chief operating officer of the Morris broadcast division. "Paul's record of achievement in radio proves he has everything it takes to best develop that potential. He gets results."

Riviera Radio operates simultaneously on two frequencies: 106.3 FM and 106.5 FM. The wide-area coverage includes Monaco and Mediterranean coastal communities from San Remo, Italy, to St. Tropez, France, a stretch of the Riviera that includes Nice and Cannes. It is the only international broadcast property among the 33 stations and two networks owned by Morris Communications.

& Morris Communications is a privately held media company with diversified holdings that include newspaper and magazine publishing, outdoor advertising, radio broadcasting, book publishing and distribution, and online services. For more information, visit www.morris.com.
