AUGUSTA, Ga.— Greg Awtry has been named general manager of the York News-Times, a Morris-owned daily newspaper in York, Neb. The announcement was made today by William S. Morris IV, president and chief executive officer, and is effective immediately.

Most recently, Awtry served as advertising director for the News-Times. Prior to working for Morris, Awtry spent five years as sales director for Security First Bank in Nebraska and South Dakota. Prior to that, Awtry spent 21 years in retail sales, management and store ownership with Wohl Shoe Company and Cozard Bootery.

"Greg brings vast management experience as well as new ideas to the newspaper industry," Morris said. "I feel confident that he is a perfect match for the York News-Times."
