KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- Skirt!, a monthly magazine for, by and about women, will launch its unique style and high-quality content in Knoxville at the 2007 News Sentinel Women Today Expo, March 9 - 11 at the Knoxville Convention Center.

"Skirt is a unique, outspoken and passionate voice for women - encapsulating both local and national interests. It's creative and soulful with an attitude," said editor Janet Testerman. "Skirt! brings to the forefront issues and points to ponder relevant to what women think but often times won't say out loud. It is an ongoing source for new and inventive finds, bold in its color, content and character."

Copies of the premier issue will be available at the Skirt! booth at Women Today Expo. Guests can also attend Skirt! fashion shows on the Fashion and Entertainment Stage presented by Prestige Cleaners on Friday at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. Each model's skirt will be auctioned, with proceeds going to the Skirt Scholarship Fund that will benefit women in East Tennessee who need assistance studying for a four-year degree.

"The News Sentinel is pleased to partner with Morris Publishing Group to license Skirt! and bring this wonderful magazine to our area," said Bruce Hartmann, president and publisher of the News Sentinel. Skirt! will be distributed free in more than 350 retail and public locations throughout Knoxville and six surrounding counties.

Published originally in 1994 as a monthly magazine for women in Charleston, S.C., Skirt! magazine is now distributed in Atlanta, Augusta, Charlotte, Columbia, Jacksonville, and Savannah.
